Hallelujah! He is Risen
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” — Matthew 28:6 (NIV)
Reflection
Hallelujah! The wait is over. The silence of Saturday has been broken by the shout of victory. The stone is rolled away, the grave clothes are empty, and Jesus is alive! This is the day that changed everything for the world, and it is the day that changes everything for us.
In life, especially in our “Golden Seasons,” we think about “the end” more often than we used to. We feel the wear and tear on our bodies, and we see the chairs of friends who are no longer with us. Sometimes, the world tries to tell us that life is just slowly fading away. But Easter tells a different story. Easter says that for the child of God, the “end” is actually just the beginning.
Because Jesus rose from the grave, we know that death has lost its sting. Our weakness is not the final word. Our aches and pains are not the final word. Our loneliness is not the final word. The final word is Life!
His Nearness is your Victory
Today, you are not just celebrating something that happened 2,000 years ago. You are celebrating a Living Savior who is in your room right now. He has gone before you into the grave and come out the other side, so you never have to be afraid of the dark again. Today, let your heart sing. No matter how you feel physically, your spirit can soar because the King of Kings has won the battle for you.
Rest Reflection
Stand up if you are able or simply lift your head and shoulders high. Take a deep, joyous breath.
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!”
Personal Prayer
Lord Jesus, Hallelujah! Thank You for the empty tomb. Thank You for defeating death and giving me a hope that can never fade. Today, I celebrate Your life in me. Fill me with Your Easter joy. Help me to live every day in the light of Your Resurrection. You are my Risen Lord, and I love You. Amen.
A Final Meditation
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives!”
