Day 11 — The God Who Hears

“It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear.”Isaiah 65:24

Reflection

There are prayers we remember praying, and there are prayers we forgot we ever whispered. You carry decades of petitions in your heart. Some were answered quickly. Others were answered slowly. Some were answered in ways you never expected.

Years ago, I came across a story about a woman who had been praying for her son for thirty years. For a long time, she thought God did not hear her.

Then one day, things changed. She realized that God had been moving the whole time. She said, “But now I see—God was working long before I ever knew it.” Her story reminds us that God’s answers often arrive slowly, like the sun rising quietly over the horizon. You cannot see the sun moving, but suddenly, the world is full of light.

Answered prayer does not always look like the solution we imagined. * Sometimes God answers by opening a door.

  • Sometimes, He answers by closing one.
  • Sometimes, He changes our situation.
  • And sometimes, He changes our hearts.

But every answer is rooted in His goodness. There are prayers you prayed years ago that God is still unfolding today. There are prayers you prayed with tears that He has not forgotten. God’s timing is not a delay—it is a design.

His Nearness means He is listening. You do not have to shout to get God’s attention. He is so close that He hears your thoughts before you even utter them. He is never in a hurry, and He never misses a single word you say.

Rest Reflection:
Think back ten or twenty years.
Can you see a prayer that God answered in a way you did not expect at the time?
Take a moment to thank Him for that “hidden” answer.
It is proof that He is working in your life today, even if you cannot see it yet.

Personal Prayer

Lord, thank You for hearing me even before I speak. Help me to trust Your timing and Your wisdom. Whether the answer is “yes,” “no,” or “wait,” help me to feel Your nearness and trust Your love. Amen.

A Blessing For You

May you trust God’s answers today—whether they come quickly or slowly. May His wisdom guide your prayers, and may His faithfulness give your heart peace.

A Thought to Remember:
“God answers with wisdom, not with haste.”
