Lighting the Candle of Peace—Finding God’s Calm in Life’s Chaos
Peace is not the absence of conflict—it is the presence of Christ. Isaiah’s vision of wolves dwelling with lambs reminds us that God’s kingdom brings harmony where none seems possible. John the Baptist’s call to repent shows that peace requires preparation: clearing away what blocks God’s presence. Jesus’ promise in John 14:27 assures us that His peace is not circumstantial but supernatural, guarding our hearts even in seasons of loss, illness, or uncertainty.
This Advent, as we light the candle of peace, we are invited to surrender control, reconcile relationships, and fix our minds on God’s faithfulness. Perfect peace is not found in changing circumstances, but in trusting the One who never changes.
