A gentleman sits in his favourite chair by the window, looking at his hands. Older hands now — the knuckles more prominent, the skin thinner. Not the hands of the man who once built things. And yet he looks at them not with disappointment but with wonder. These hands have held his children. They have folded in prayer ten thousand times. He says quietly, almost to himself: “My body has changed. But God hasn’t.”

From First Breath to Last.
As the years pass, we often feel more fragile. Our bodies change, and we might wonder if we are becoming a “burden” to those around us.
