Today (November 9, 2025), I Turn Another Page.

Sixty-two years. More than six decades of life. Thousands of days. Countless moments. A lifetime of memories.

Another year completed. Another candle added. Another lap around the sun.

But more than that—it’s another year of God’s faithfulness. Another 365 days of His mercy, His provision, His presence. Another chapter in the story He’s writing with my life.

As I pause to reflect on this day, I’m overwhelmed not by what I’ve accomplished, but by what God has carried me through. The moments of joy and the seasons of struggle. The answered prayers and the ones still waiting. The lessons learned and the grace given when I stumbled.

Today isn’t just about getting older. It’s about recognizing that every breath, every sunrise, every ordinary moment has been a gift.


Sixty-Two Years: A Testimony of Grace

As I stand at 62, I look back and see not just my footprints in the sand, but God’s faithfulness walking beside me every step of the way.

I’ve lived through:

  • Decades of change and transformation
  • Seasons of abundance and seasons of need
  • Moments of profound joy and valleys of deep sorrow
  • Years of questions and years of clarity
  • Times when I felt strong and times when I could barely stand

And through it all, God has been:

  • My provider when resources were scarce
  • My comforter in times of loss
  • My guide when the path was unclear
  • My strength when I was weak
  • My constant companion in every season

Sixty-two years is not just a number—it’s a testimony. A living witness to a God who keeps His promises. A monument to grace that has carried me through every sunrise and sunset.

I’ve buried loved ones and welcomed new life. I’ve celebrated victories and learned from failures. I’ve prayed desperate prayers and sung joyful songs. I’ve walked through fire and danced in the rain.

And through it all—every single moment of these 62 years—God has never let go of me.

Psalm 71:17-18

“Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.”

At 62, I am still declaring His marvelous deeds. My hair may be graying, my steps may be slower, but my testimony is stronger than ever: God is faithful.


Scripture: God’s Word Over My New Year

Psalm 139:13-16

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Before I took my first breath, God knew this day would come. He planned it. He numbered it. And He has walked with me through every single day leading up to this moment.

Lamentations 3:22-23

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Every morning I’ve woken up this past year—whether in joy or sorrow, strength or weakness—His mercies were new. His faithfulness never wavered. And as I step into this new year of life, I know His faithfulness will continue.

Jeremiah 29:11

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

I don’t know what this next year holds. But I know Who holds it. And His plans for me are good—not because life will be easy, but because He is faithful.

Psalm 90:12

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Birthdays are reminders that our time here is limited and precious. This day invites me to live with intention, to love with purpose, and to steward the gift of life with gratitude and wisdom.


A Prayer of Thanksgiving for 62 Years

Lord, today I come before You with a heart overflowing with gratitude. Sixty-two years. I never imagined I would see this day, yet here I am—by Your grace alone. Thank You for the gift of life—for every breath, every heartbeat, every sunrise You’ve graciously given me over these 62 years. Thank You for bringing me safely to this day. I do not take it for granted.

Thank You for Your faithfulness through every decade:

  • For my childhood, when You planted seeds of faith
  • For my youth, when You guided my steps even when I wandered
  • For my middle years, when You sustained me through responsibilities and challenges
  • For these senior years, when You continue to give me purpose and hope

Thank You for 62 years of answered prayers. For prayers You said “yes” to, prayers You said “wait” to, and prayers You said “no” to because You had something better planned.

Thank You for carrying me through losses I thought would break me. For marriages, births, deaths, illnesses, celebrations—You were present in every single one.

Thank You for the people You’ve woven into my story over these six decades—family who shaped me, friends who walked with me, mentors who guided me, and even those who challenged me and helped me grow.

Thank You that at 62, You’re not finished with me yet. My age is not a limitation to You—it’s an opportunity. You still have purposes for my life, wisdom for me to share, love for me to give, and grace for me to receive.

Forgive me for the years I wasted, the moments I complained, the times I forgot how blessed I am. Your grace has covered every failure, every regret, every mistake across all 62 years.

As I step into year 63, I surrender it completely to You. My remaining days—whether they are many or few—belong to You. Lead me where You want me to go. Teach me what You want me to learn. Use me however You see fit.

Give me wisdom to steward these years well. Please help me to leave a legacy of faith for the next generation. Let my life be a testimony that You are faithful from beginning to end, and leave a legacy to my children and grandchildren, as a father and grandfather.

May this year bring me even closer to You. May I reflect Your love more clearly. May my 62 years of walking with You inspire others to trust You too.

And when my final birthday on earth comes, may I hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

I thank You, Lord, for 62 years of life. For 62 years of mercy. For 62 years of grace.

Looking Forward with Hope

I don’t know what this year will bring. New joys, perhaps. Maybe new challenges. Growth. Change. Unexpected blessings and unforeseen hardships.

But here’s what I do know: God has been faithful for every year that’s come before this one, and He will be faithful in the year ahead.

So today, I celebrate not just my birthday, but God’s faithfulness. I celebrate not just the passing of time, but the God who redeems every moment.

Another year older. Another year wiser, I hope. Another year held in the hands of a loving Father.

And that is reason enough to celebrate.


“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
