Who lifts you up when you need support in life?
Do you have someone who inspires you today?
Even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Just being there for someone—listening, sharing a moment, or showing care—helps them feel connected and less alone. Kindness doesn’t need to be grand; simple gestures strengthen our bonds.
Story
Not long ago, I had a lovely chat with Barbara (name changed for privacy). She reached out to ask about my daughter-in-law’s health, showing her care and concern. Her thoughtfulness reminded me that just being present can mean so much.
Barbara shared how I had positively impacted her life, and I told her how she had influenced me, too. Together, we raised our fists and cheered: “Fight, fight, fight!”
That simple chant captured our determination to support each other through life’s challenges. Moments like these show the heart of caregiving: being present, lifting each other, and standing side by side.
Reflection
Helping others isn’t only about doing tasks—it’s about caring and building relationships.
Sometimes the best support is just being there and listening. Rachel Naomi Remen said:
“The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen.”
(Kitchen Table Wisdom, 1996)
Barbara showed that true caring means paying attention and hearing what someone really needs. Support can be as simple as sitting quietly or understanding another person’s feelings.
Let this inspire you: show up, listen, and cheer on those facing tough battles. And if you are having a hard day, remember: you are not alone. There are people who care and want to stand by you.
Scripture to Hold On
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (NIV)
“Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” — Isaiah 46:4 (NIV)
These verses remind us that caregiving is love in action. God’s care is always with us, in strong moments and in our weakest.
Music
Music can lift our spirits and strengthen our courage. Singing, listening, or humming a favorite song can remind us of hope and connection.

Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the gift of support and kindness. Help us to lift others with our words, presence, and actions. Teach us to listen, encourage, and stand beside those who struggle. Lord, remind us that You are always with us, sustaining and caring for us in every season. May our hearts reflect Your love as we help others carry their burdens. Amen.
