“Honoring the Past, Guiding the Present, Inspiring the Future—in Christ.” From A Chaplain's Heart.

Are you feeling uncertain about what lies ahead?
Do you long for peace and direction in this season of life?
Have you ever looked back and wondered how God’s faithfulness

carried you through life’s hardest moments?

As we grow older, it brings great comfort to remember that God has a special plan for our lives. Each twist and turn we face is not without purpose; it is woven together with love and care. Life can bring challenges—like health issues, losing those we love, or big changes that feel overwhelming—but we can find strength and hope in the words of Jeremiah 29:11,

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)

Every moment and experience you go through holds importance in His eyes.

So, as you journey through life’s later stages, remember that you are valued, loved, and guided by a divine purpose. Take heart! Don’t lose hope! Every part of your life matters, and wonderful things are waiting for you in the future. Embrace this journey with open arms.

Personal Story

I remember a time when I faced a serious health issue. It was a challenging period marked by uncertainty. At the hospital, I often wondered why this was happening to me and struggled to find meaning in my pain.

One day, I met another patient who was going through a similar experience. We started to share our stories and lift each other up. That unexpected friendship brought me hope and strength when I needed it most.

Looking back, I see that this difficult time brought me closer to God. I learned to trust in His plan, even when it didn’t make sense. That friendship reminded me that God puts people in our lives for a special purpose. Even in our darkest moments, His love and presence are always with us.

So, if you’re going through a tough time, remember you’re not alone. Hold onto hope, trust in God, and know that brighter days are ahead.

Reflection

Many of us have heard stories about how tough times can help us see God’s presence in our lives. One wise elder once said, “I wouldn’t have picked those hard paths, but I wouldn’t give them up either. They brought me closer to Him.”

These heartfelt stories remind us that even when we face struggles, there is a reason behind it. Every bump in the road is a chance for us to experience God’s unwavering love. Challenges can lead us to a deeper relationship with Him. Embrace the journey and trust that God’s love is always with you, guiding you through every twist and turn.

Corrie ten Boom said, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”

Thank You for the people, the trials, and the blessings that have drawn me closer to You.
I trust You with my future, knowing You are always near.
Amen.
