Stand Tall

SCRIPTURE “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” — Ephesians 6:10

Reflection

Standing tall is not about your physical posture—it is about the confidence in your soul. As the years pass, it is natural to feel our physical bodies becoming a little more fragile. However, there is a beautiful secret in the life of faith: while our physical selves may grow weary, our spirits can grow stronger, bolder, and more vibrant than ever before.

I once visited a woman who walked with a heavy lean and used a cane for every step. When I asked how she stayed so brave, she whispered with a smile, “Reverend, I may be bent on the outside, but I stand tall in here.” She understood that her dignity did not come from her physical health, but from the nearness of God.

Standing tall means:

  • Refusing to let fear or “old age” make your faith feel small.
  • Remembering exactly Who is walking beside you through every hallway.
  • Lifting your head in hope, even when the day feels heavy.

Scripture tells us to be strong “in the Lord.” This means His strength acts like a scaffolding around us. His power is not limited by your age, your energy levels, or your medical chart. In fact, God’s power is made “perfect” in our weakness.

Rest Reflection

Take a deep breath and sit as straight as you comfortably can. Remind yourself: “I am a child of the Most High God. He is my strength.”

“Stand up, stand up for Jesus…
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.”

Personal Prayer

Lord, help me to stand tall in Your strength today. When my body feels weak, please be my power. When I feel uncertain about the future, be my confidence. Thank You for holding me upright with Your mighty hand. Amen.

A Blessing for You

Go forth in God’s strength today. May His power hold up your spirit, His courage fill your heart, and His nearness remind you that you are a giant in faith when you stand with Him.
