Day 10 — A Future and a Hope
Bible Verse
“For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you a future and a hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11
Reflection
As we get older, we often think about the future with quiet curiosity. Life has shifted. Our daily routines are different now, and the horizon looks different from what it did many years ago. Yet, God’s promise is still true: He has plans for you, He offers you hope, and He is still writing your story.
One afternoon, I asked a woman in her late eighties what she hoped for in the days ahead. She smiled softly and said, “I just want to know God is still leading me. I want to know my life still has meaning.”
Her words show a beautiful faith. She trusted that God’s purposes do not “expire” because of age.
Hope does not have an age limit. God’s plans do not get smaller as you grow older. Even in this season of life, He continues to guide you, shape you, and use you. Your story is not over. It is moving forward in new and important ways.
His Nearness means your life has a purpose. Having a “future and a hope” means God is not finished with you yet.
- There are still prayers for you to pray.
- There are still people for you to bless.
- There is still wisdom for you to share.
- There is still joy for you to experience.
Perhaps your future looks different now. It may be quieter or slower. But it is just as important to God as it ever was. He sees every day you have left, and He has put a special purpose into every single one. Because He is near, your future is safe in His hands.
Rest and Reflect: Even if your body is slower, your spirit can still reach out.
Think of one person you can pray for today.
By praying for them, you are participating in God’s “future and hope” for their life and yours. I am praying for: ________________
Personal Prayer
Lord, thank You for holding my future in Your hands. Fill me with hope and guide my steps today. Remind me that Your plans for me are still good, still meaningful, and still unfolding. Thank You for staying near me. Amen.
A Blessing for You
May the God of hope fill your heart today. May He guide your future with His wisdom and surround your days with His peace. May you always remember that your life still matters deeply to Him.
A Thought to Remember
“Hope remains because God remains—and His plans for you are not finished.”
