Day 3: Learning to Forgive

Bible Verse

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” — Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

The Message

Forgiveness is very hard. It is difficult for people who have been hurt for a long time. But forgiveness does not mean that the bad thing was okay. It means you are choosing to let go of the pain.

One man shared, “I have been angry for 30 years. It feels like a heavy weight.” When he prayed and chose to forgive, he felt a great sense of relief. Forgiveness did not change what happened in the past. But it did change how he felt inside.

Forgiveness is like a journey. It does not happen all at once. Some deep hurts need many prayers. But every time you try to forgive, you become more free. You do not have to do this alone. God gives you His strength to help you.

Today, ask God to help your heart.
You do not have to forget the pain. You only need to ask God to take away its power over you.

Remember: Forgiveness is also a gift you give to your own soul.

“Forgiveness frees the one who forgives.”

A Simple Prayer

Lord, help me forgive others because You forgave me. Please take away my anger. Fill my heart with Your peace. Amen.

A Blessing for You

May the Lord free your heart from every heavy burden. May His grace empower you to forgive, and may His peace fill the space where bitterness once lived.
